Privacy Policy

Your home's record is one of the most personal datasets there is. We built MyNestLog to keep it private, portable, and yours. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have.

Our pledges

• We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.
• No ads, ever. We earn money only when we book a job you approved.
• You can leave with everything. Export your full record or delete it, anytime, in one step.
• Pros see only the job. A plumber sees your water heater, not your whole house.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to build and maintain your home's record:

• Account details — your name and email, so you can sign in and we can reach you.
• Home & property data — the address you enter and the public property data we pre-fill from it (build year, systems, permits), plus anything you confirm or add.
• Appliances & documents — the model plates, receipts, manuals, inspection reports, and photos you add, and the details we read from them.
• Usage data — basic, privacy-respecting diagnostics to keep the app working and secure.

How we use it

We use your data to run the product for you: to keep your home's record current, surface reminders and safety recalls tuned to your systems, answer questions about your home, and — only when you ask — scope a job and request quotes from vetted pros. We do not use your home's data to train advertising models or profile you.

When we share it

We share the minimum necessary, and only with your involvement:

• Pros you choose to engage receive only the details relevant to that job — never your full record.
• People you invite to your home can see the record you share with them.
• Service providers that host and operate the app on our behalf, bound by contracts that forbid using your data for anything else.
• Legal requirements, if we are compelled by valid legal process — we push back on overbroad requests.

Your controls

You can view, export, correct, or delete your data from within the app at any time. Exporting gives you your full record; deleting removes it permanently. If you'd like help exercising any of these, email hello@mynestlog.com.

Data retention & security

We keep your data for as long as your account is active, and delete it when you ask us to. We protect it with encryption in transit and at rest and limit access to the people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your home's record like it's our own.

Children

MyNestLog is intended for adults managing their homes and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
